Meet Dr. Degerness

Dr. Randolph “Randy” Degerness was born and raised in a small farming community in northern Minnesota. His childhood love of tractors and gardening persisted into adulthood, and he enjoys trips to the North Country several times each year.  Dr. Degerness attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in music. After teaching music for one year, he decided to pursue dentistry and earned his degree from the University of Colorado in 1982. Dr. Degerness practiced general dentistry in Englewood for 13 years.

As his practice developed, he taught part-time at The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine; sharing his knowledge of and passion for dentistry. His meticulous and gentle nature and his compassion for others sparked an interest in the field of endodontics and inspired him to further his education. He attended the University of Minnesota where he earned his Certificate in Endodontics and a Master of Science degree in 1999. Portions of his thesis written during his time as a graduate student were published in two editions of The Journal of Endodontics.

In 2000, Dr. Degerness opened Andante Endodontics in Littleton.  While he currently specializes in endodontics, Dr. Degerness’ extensive experience as a general dentist gives him valuable insight into the restorability of a tooth. He is known for his gentle chairside manner and for taking his time to ensure the best prognosis for each patient.  An 11-year honoree of 5280’s Top Dentists, Dr. Degerness prides himself on excellence and quality of treatment and care.

During his free time, Dr. Degerness enjoys tending to his vegetable garden, visiting his family farm in Minnesota, volunteering at church and spending time with his three grown daughters and his two grandchildren.
